Today we learnt about gardening from our honourable guest, Muralidharan. Muralidharan is a Literature graduate from Madras University, who has immense love for literature studies and entrepreneurship. Apart from his formal education, he also volunteered to be part of many governments organized workshops like Women Empowerment Workshop by Indo-Canadian Institute, Madurai; Trainer of Trainees of Panchayat Raj by State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Chennai; and continues to learn more by attending training & workshop on Organic Farming. He thought us how to do tests for the soil and how to plant with natural pesticides and manure. We were allocated in groups to do a collage in the different types of gardens.
He is a:
- Founder / Vice-Chairman Virutcham Foundation (NGO), Namakkal – Salem. (Virutcham Foundation is an NGO dedicated to human care, environmental welfare and farming)
- Creative Head, Third Eye (Training Academy), Salem. (Third Eye is an academy dedicated to language studies, soft skill management, NLP-based training, workshops and counselling)
- Managing Partner, Papillon (Digital Design Studio), Salem.
- Patron, Central Library Rural Branch, Nanjai Edayar Village,

The session was really insightful as the chief guest shared really useful information on soil tests, natural pesticides and so on. The group activity helped us explore the different types of gardens.
ReplyDeleteMaking the compost was an interesting and knowledgeable activity loved the way it finally turned out, have seen a significant increase in the nutrient content of the plant after using this compost.
