 Student's Work • Part 1 The students have done a spectacular job in growing their own plants. They have done it within 3 months. Their works have been done after the first 3 classes of this club. Day 3: Pesticide Making

4. 09. 2021 Pesticide Making  Today we learnt how to make different types of organic pesticides for the leaves. We also discussed a few garden hacks and others showed their previous work.

 14. 08. 2021 Compost Making  Today we learnt how to make the best organic compost for our plants. We also discussed  aquaponics  and the Transplantation of plants.

About the Club

About the Club: Mission: Let’s encourage and motivate to do gardening and make the world a better place to live. Description of the Logo: The logo of our club consists of a capital G entwined with flowers and creepers embedded with the name of our school which depicts that there we the students of yuva will turn the world a greener place. Leadership: The teachers will only be faculty, they will just help us along the way. The president of the club is Thanya Kumari from grade 11 A2 and the Secretary-General, Nathan Prakash Muralidharan from grade 8C.

Why Yuva Green Fingers?

WHY YUVA GREEN FINGERS? The academic year 2021-2022 is the first year of this club. The main motive of this club is to make a green today and a brighter tomorrow. Due to this pandemic situation students are into digital life in front of the computer.  Team Yuva thus came up with an initiative way of making children put their hand into the soil which will not only make the kids have an opportunity to learn about gardening but also makes the earth an amazing place to live.       

Day 1: Introduction and Compost

10. 07. 2021 Introduction and Compost Today we learnt about gardening from our honourable guest, Muralidharan. Muralidharan is a Literature graduate from Madras University, who has immense love for literature studies and entrepreneurship. Apart from his formal education, he also volunteered to be part of many governments organized workshops like Women Empowerment Workshop by Indo-Canadian Institute, Madurai; Trainer of Trainees of Panchayat Raj by State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Chennai; and continues to learn more by attending training & workshop on Organic Farming. He thought us how to do tests for the soil and how to plant with natural pesticides and manure. We were allocated in groups to do a collage in the different types of gardens.
